Becoming a Coach
SO YOU WANT TO BE A COACH?
Coaches are essential to the game. They teach children soccer skills and help develop a healthy, positive attitude, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Coaching is a rewarding experience because you have the opportunity to build a child's self-esteem, help them learn new skills and just have a lot of fun. As a mentor and leader, you’ll enjoy watching members of your soccer team grow and develop their skills. You’ll also get to share your love of the game with others while helping them achieve their soccer goals. Every child is a winner and should treat each child fairly.
You will need maturity, patience, dependability, and have good organizational skills, and know how to communicate.
Don't have any experience?
Don't worry, you will not be alone! We are all one community of volunteers from all walks of life and different levels of experience in soccer. You will always be able to ask any of the more experienced coaches for help. You will also be able to reach out to our Coaches Commissioner for help and guidance. Check out the "coaches source" tab for helpful links to websites to help on your new found journey of being a youth soccer coach!
